Availability: To use Payroll, your account must have this feature enabled and your role must have the corresponding permissions. If the option does not appear, contact Aragro support.

In Aragro, payroll is fed by completed work orders: they hold each worker’s days worked, hours, piecework progress and absences. This guide walks through each period’s cycle, from the pre-check to the pay stubs.

  • Your employees must be assigned to their payroll. The most practical way is through the job position: if each position (for example, Permanent, Temporary or Crew) matches a payroll, every new employee gets the right payroll and base salary as soon as you create them.
  • The payroll structure’s formulas must be ready. If in doubt, see Payroll component formulas.
  • Complete every work order for the period. A work order still in Draft or In Progress is not included in payroll.

The Pre-payroll report shows what each worker has accumulated in the period from their work orders. Use it so the field supervisor can confirm days and hours before payroll is generated.

  • If you don’t want that supervisor to see salary amounts, remove the View salaries permission from their role. They will still see days and hours, but not amounts. See User roles.
  • If work is missing or wrong, fix it now in the work order. It is much easier than after the payroll is completed.
  1. Go to Payroll → Payroll entries and create a new entry.
  2. Set the payroll period (for example, September 5 to 18).
  3. Choose the farm and the payroll you are paying (for example, Administration or Temporary).
  4. Give it a clear, consistent name, for example Temporary 05-18 Sep 2026. Once completed, the entry can no longer be renamed.
  1. Click Generate Payroll. Aragro takes the data from the period’s completed work orders and calculates each component.
  2. Review the results. Compare them with the pre-payroll and, for many employees, export the entry to review it in Excel.
  3. Add by hand anything that doesn’t come from work orders, for example Other deductions or a bonus amount agreed per person.
  4. If you change a work order or a formula, click Generate Payroll again to recalculate.

When everything matches, click Complete Payroll Entry. The entry moves to Completed and its data is locked.

If your account has accounting integration set up (accounts assigned to each payroll component), completing the entry makes Aragro post the journal entry and distribute costs to the corresponding cost centers.

To fix a completed entry you need to revert it. See Correct a completed work order, purchase or payroll.

From the payroll entry, open the Actions menu and generate stubs for all workers at once.

You can adjust the date range printed on the stub (for example, 1–15 and 16–30) to meet legal requirements, without changing the payroll calculations.

  • Test before going live. Generate a payroll with data from a period you already paid and compare it with your previous payroll. That validates the formulas before you pay with Aragro.
  • Separate payrolls that are treated differently. For example, permanent staff (with social security and income tax) and temporary staff or crews (without them). Each with its own structure and entries.
  • Avoid duplicate pay. When the activity tracks time, Aragro checks for time intervals overlapping completed work orders. This does not block every additional order on the same day: review attendance and pay in the pre-payroll.
